Kaiju Cards

An NFT game built on the Solana blockchain

Overview

We partnered with the Kaiju Cards team to concept and build both an NFT-based game ("Genesis Quest") and a custom marketplace, enabling minting, listing, trading, and gameplay integration on the Solana blockchain.

Research-First Approach

  • Ecosystem & User Research
We began with deep research into the Solana NFT ecosystem and gaming user behavior, focusing on how players interact with assets, tokens, and game mechanics.

  • Journey Mapping & Behavioral Insights
We mapped key user flows—from onboarding and wallet connection to NFT trading and quest engagement—identifying major friction points and usability gaps.

  • Co-Creation with Stakeholders
Through regular workshops and weekly syncs, we collaborated with Kaiju’s team and engineers to ensure our designs aligned with real player needs and technical feasibility.

Design Decisions Fueled by Research

  • Marketplace Architecture & Filtering
Based on user research, we introduced advanced filtering, wallet integrations, and intuitive navigation to streamline trading and browsing.

  • In-Game Quest UX
We crafted an experience that balanced real-time quest progress with minimal interruption, using tested notification flows and modular UI dashboards.

  • Atomic Design System
A flexible, component-based design system unified the look and feel across both the game and marketplace, enabling scalable growth and rapid iteration.

Outcomes & Deliverables

  • Genesis Quest Game: Designed a playable experience rooted in player behavior and game theory.

  • NFT Marketplace: Launched a custom marketplace with intuitive listing, bidding, and filtering tools.

  • Design System: Delivered a modular, reusable Figma and dev-ready system to support expansion.

  • Ongoing Collaboration: Worked hand-in-hand with stakeholders through research-led sprints.
